Job Summary
Sourcing activities, Implementation & Management of group contracts at regional & global reach for GKN Aerospace. Development and implementation commodity strategies that leverage GKN Aerospace’s spend to deliver significant annual improvements in cost, quality and shipping profiles. Coordinating implementation of contracts through the P2P function at sites and manage contract compliance. Manage cross-functional stakeholder teams to identify business needs and implement contracts that support business requirements.
Job Resposibilities
- Support on all operational transport activities for our Civil, Defense and Engines Business line Business lines
• Lead transportation improvement projects with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain delivery instructions in compliance with (local) regulations and freight requirements
• Monitor- instruct- and develop suppliers to make sure they are delivering according delivery instructions
• Manage and take appropriate actions towards transport service providers on the agreed performance and costs targets
• Improve transport routing to optimize the performance versus costs
• Support in claims towards transport service providers and/or Insurance Company
• Support in Deployment and implementation of a Transport Management System
• Act as an escalation level for the local SCM and Procurement teams regarding transport issues Act as subject matter expert and be process owner for GKN’s transportation processes.
• Provide internal training.
• Ensure export compliancy in all transport processes
• Investigate alternative transportation strategies
Qualifications
- University degree and preferably 10 years of experience in a similar position
• Proven ability to steer the long-term direction of Transport related procurement and category management, aligning initiatives with the company strategic goals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement activities within commodities of responsibility (o.a. Global Air/ Road/ Ocean/ Small Parcels Freight security, thorough knowledge of Incoterms).
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply markets for relevant commodities.
• Proven leadership skills; especially influencing skills.
• Ability to work with senior management as a peer to gain their support for delivery of commodity management strategy and contract implementation.
• Ability to influence other stakeholders to contribute to the development and execution of commodity strategies.
• Proven Project Management skills.
• Extensive negotiation experience & skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Ability to empower others work with world-wide cultures and their specific requirement.
